THE MOVIES WE WATCH....

Well in India we people are nuts about our movies and crazy about cricket.....
I am a big movie buff like every normal Indian, just that I don't feel that normal....
Ever seen a bollywood movie????.........

Two people drenched in rain are standing in front of each other, their names are R and S they both are furious and fuming with anger. Ready to fight they both dive at each other at the same time. Their fists strike the others face at the same time (in slow motion). R kicks S on the side. S flies up to 20 ft and falls on a table. He gets up (miraculously), holds R by his collar and drags him on a table on which glass bottles are strategically placed. R also gets up (Please remember this is not the Matrix and it really is air that they are breathing). They both grab the others collar and jump on their side through a glass window. They both have blood and glass all over their respective faces and are now lying down on the floor face first. They look up and in front of them is standing a man (lets call him V for villain) with moustache.......

All of a sudden there is a flash back in which this V has a pistol. He takes the first shot at R and then at S. This scene repeats itself at least 3-4 times.....

R and S both realize that they are brothers who were killed in their last birth and have reincarnated to destroy V. They both join their forces and just finish him off (there is a big fight of course). V gets away only to come back in the climax (obviously)......

They turn back in a very histrionic way and they see that on their sides are standing their respective girls, both the girls are giving a mischievous smirk to the heroes. The camera shifts from each of the Heroine's face to each of the Hero's face at least 5-6 times. Love is in the air. Music starts and all four of them at the same time go into a dream.........

The two heroes and the heroines with 20-30 similarly clad men and women, dancing away to glory on a colorful and lavish set, which makes quiet a spectacle..........

Still don't want to watch a bollywood movie.......

Scattered Thoughts... said...

hah.. any day dude any day.. I am a big movie buff and can watch any thing unless its sheer bullshit.. BTW you got inspired from Karan Arjun eh?

Well scattered thoughts I think it is one of the many movies with full on mixture of every kind of masala we use in our films...

Wow, bizarre. Actually this post DOES make me want to watch a Bollywood movie, but perhaps not the whole thing. That whole thing seems extremely unrealistic, but American movies are not much better. I was watching Spiderman 3 the other day... the whole time just repeating in my head, "This is ridiculous! He can't still be alive!" This is what I watch movies selectively.

I agree flightpretendment spiderman 3 was a bit of a drag... Well bollywood has really evolved of late with some really great movies...

Lol, we love our movies even if they come with song and dance sequences, unrealistic fight scenes, ridiculous plots and bizarre costumes. I remember the movies of the 80s had people dancing on utensils! And the heroines in dream sequences would dance on gigantic drums.

This is a nice theme for a blog. I know there are lots of 'India' blogs but India from the POV of a commoner without going over the top is a good idea.

Why karan arjun why not dil chahta hai..or lagaan or delhi 6...or rang de basanti.. or taare zameen par??? why did u choose such a horrendous movie to represent the whole hindi film industry?

You have a critic here mate :) xx

Hey so cool my first critic....
Thanks samreen... This post is not about one particular movie... Its about all the ingredients that are used in our film industry to make a movie work... I agree again that we are evolving but we have been feeding on such plots for a very long time...

Hi Mukund,
I just had to check out your blog, especially after you helped me with the question I put up in the forum.

Just to let you know that I have been to India 5 times and I would love to go back there again! I haven't been to Odessa and the surrounding areas.

From time to time, the Bollywood film crews will be in the mountains of Switzerland shooting new movies and they made quite a headline in our local news.

....but watching bollywood movies can be an emotional roller coaster for me. The actor/actress are excellent performers and the MUSIC in those movies are so effective especially during sad part of the story line. They managed to make me cry! LOL

Thanks Rae
I am glad you liked India, it really is a great country... I think the movies here are amazing... Very entertaining, they make you cry, laugh, dance, sing all at once...
