CELEBRATING EARTH HOURS

How have you been??? Its after 5 days since my previous post so it will not be a follow up about the previous post as promised... It's just that the story is no longer fresh.... But who cares really this might just interest you as well.......

Ok, how many of you celebrated earth hour???.......
I am sure you all are really aware and love your surroundings. I worry about it like you do. I even had an Earth hour banner which got lost in my attempt to change my template which I ultimately didn't..... Anyways lets get back.....

How many of you celebrated Earth Hour??? (I don't really need an answer but you can tell it in your comments)
Many unfortunately did not celebrate Earth Hour.... actually never got a chance...... consider this....

You get up early in the morning grumbling as usual. You switch on the computer and log on to blogsphere. You take a look at your blog for comments and look at the Earth hour banner. It is 28th of March so you get all excited and even get your family to support you, which in itself is a really difficult task. Everyone agrees to celebrate Earth Hour..... And then it happens...

अरे light चली गयी !!!!! (We people refer to electricity as light).... you guessed it right... there was a power cut....

Basically the Earth Hour celebration is no longer a celebration as the power cut goes on for around 4- 6 hours at times (including the Earth hour).

It's going to be summer time in India and with that we are going to have up to 6 hours of power cuts daily. It is in time like these that I thank god for having a tedious job where it is mandatory for me to sit for 6 hours at my workplace.

We have to protect our earth and we will join hands for such great cause. We should try using good and efficient products at our hoems itself.I have started using LEDs at my home and you too should do that.:

You have got it right on. We never have load shedding here in Mumbai but other parts of India do face planned power outages due to a generation gap. That's a kind of forced 'Earth hour(s)' for them.

flightpretendment: Earth hour is one hour in the whole year when people around the world switch off there lights to save on power. You can google it to find out more.

Rohit: I agree that we need to start at our homes to really make a difference. Though I am pretty new to the concept of using LEDs at home and dont know much about it.

Julia Scissor: I do hope this generation gap reduces. Its really difficult to get through summers even with generators and invertors
