A Challenge for All...

Now, I am sure some you must have seen a guy called Small Footprints here. He was one of the first few followers on my blog. This guy is great. He not only writes well, he writes for the environment. He has a large reader base and this is really a great initiative taken by him....

He has started a Green Challenge. What happens is that every wednesday he puts up a challenge for all his visitors to come and take up and help make this world a better place. Every wednesday he will write a post called Change The World Wednesdays and give a challenge. I think every person aware of the surroundings should do this. I have taken up this challenge and I plan to take whatever he comes up with every week. This is the challenge for this week

For the entire week (yep, the whole week), refuse plastic bags at the store or anywhere else where they are offered. One whole week ... 7 days ... no plastic bags.

If you think you can take this challenge then go ahead put it on your blog and ask your readers to do this.....

Lets Change the World...

This is a good one. I'm going to visit that blog after this.

Will write about this plastic bag thing in my blog as well.

In Switzerland, most people go shopping with a foldable shopping bag in their bag. You want the shop's plastic bag, you have to pay 30 swiss rappen, (about 30 cent)

Thats excellent! I've been refusing plastic bags for over 6 months now. Always carry a reusable bag in my handbag and load stuff into it.

Long, long time ago in India, companies were left puzzled when they saw their profit figures and the footfall of customers dwindle for no apparent reason. Managers tried to probe the reason by going on the floor and servicing the customers themselves but to their surprise, could discover nothing. Then one day a smart manager innocently asked one of the everyday shoppers, Mrs. Sharma, to share her experience at the store with the management. She reluctantly agreed and started listing down objective observations and left everyone astonished. The managers got to work and acted on the feedback. Within no time, the good old days of the store returned and shoppers like Mrs. Sharma were secretly commissioned to maintain high standards of customer service and thereby improving the shopping experience delivered in every industry.

Thus, the Mystery Shopper was born in India. The Mystery Shopper has since then gone through overhauls and in today’s age the Mystery Shopper resembles the person reading this. YES! Nice initiative. In petersburg plastic bags aren't free in the shops. SO ppl have to buy them. And hence prefer to bring one from home. Indirectly contributing a small amount to protect the environment.
