The India As We Know it

Well... this is my first blog and the first post and i dint really know what to write so thought why not write about the country i live in and the people i have seen and noticed it might get a little boring but still....
Well..... Read on.....

India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most astrictive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only!
~~~ Mark Twain (American writer)
This is how Mark Twain drew the family tree of this world and still the representation of India to this world has not been even near to what it should be. Still while the west remains the land of opportunities we remain perceived by the world as the land of snake charmers at least that is what it seems, as still India's representation as a poor and a rural country is famous amongst the developed nations of the west.
India has grown to become the 12th largest economy and also is the 4th largest in purchasing power and also the 7th largest country by geographical area. The 1.15 billion population of India is only second to china (though nothing to be proud of). A multiethnic country marked with numerous historical and cultural monuments and has culturally dominated most of the countries in the sub-continent. Still India has its problems like poverty, illiteracy and population.
But the best part of India have to be the people of this country. The brilliant vibrant group of people that you get here is amazing. Everyone brought up in the same country, having a similar set of values and yet everyone has different viewpoints, problems and reservations, hating every bit of this country and still proud to be an Indian.
