The past 7 days...

7 Kicks So Far
Hey people... I hope you all are doing well... as for me, as you can guess from my not being frequent on the the blog that I have come to realize how difficult it is to maintain your social and professional life, and I am still pretty new to it... Anyways enough of that... This week a few things happened and all somehow related to music...

The first one was when I bought an ipod. I have always been the kind of guy who doesn't like too many hassles in life so I always thought that when you have phones like Nokia music express, why does anyone go for an ipod that also for a similar price? Well, that question was definitely answered. Having an ipod is an awesome thing and I couldn't have been more wrong.

The second one was when the King of pop died. I was shocked. Most of the people at some point of time in their lives have been a fan of this guy and have been awed by his singing and dancing. I was always amazed when he used to dance, even though at times it looked vulgar. Seriously, hats off to him. I somehow feel he deserves a better and peaceful farewell then what is being given to him.

The third one well our own R.D. Burman's 70th birth anniversary was on 27th. This guy changed the face of Hindi film music. Every bit of music that he gave was great. For me he was the baap of all music directors, very closely now followed by A.R. Rehman.

Now, well I have a lot of incomplete work lying on my blog. I have been tagged a couple of times. Once by Wahrlooz and then by sid.
So, the next two posts will be about me :)

A Challenge for All...

10 Kicks So Far
Now, I am sure some you must have seen a guy called Small Footprints here. He was one of the first few followers on my blog. This guy is great. He not only writes well, he writes for the environment. He has a large reader base and this is really a great initiative taken by him....

He has started a Green Challenge. What happens is that every wednesday he puts up a challenge for all his visitors to come and take up and help make this world a better place. Every wednesday he will write a post called Change The World Wednesdays and give a challenge. I think every person aware of the surroundings should do this. I have taken up this challenge and I plan to take whatever he comes up with every week. This is the challenge for this week

For the entire week (yep, the whole week), refuse plastic bags at the store or anywhere else where they are offered. One whole week ... 7 days ... no plastic bags.

If you think you can take this challenge then go ahead put it on your blog and ask your readers to do this.....

Lets Change the World...

What Am I Upto Now....

3 Kicks So Far
Now this might not be post about anything important for many of you but this is something new that I have been doing....

You all must have heard of twitter and if not then you really need to catch up. Well I needed to something similar and finally I did. The first impression was that twitter is tricky and for a while when I was just going on following people and these random things kept coming on my twitter home. I was confused and I suppose for the past 3 weeks I didn't do anything. I used to get up, log into twitter, get scared and log out. But that was till today morning...

From some where an tweenlightenment (enlightenment) came to me and I thought that if I have to get a hang of twitter (which I was itching to with every other person talking about it) I had to get my hands dirty.

So, from today onwards I am officially announcing that I am active on twitter and very new to it. You can find me there just telling you the stuff from my daily routine. You can stop by say a 'Hi' and I can get connected to you on twitter....

This time I am waiting for your tips and suggestions for me to get comfortable with twitter and ya before I forget and end this post....... Tweet me :)

Straight From The Heart...

1 Kicks So Far
Dil Chahta Hai is one of the movies I am very very fond of... I have watched the movie a lot of times and every time I see it my faith in friendship which I have lost over the years a bit just comes back to me and then I had the same feeling on this corner of mine.

Now, what was happening of late was that due to my work I had been neglecting my little space here where I have my own, small, but still my own readers who come here and share their thoughts on my thoughts. But why am I telling you all this??

Now this might sound a bit lame to all of you but this is what I feel. This post is more out of guilt. It is because this blog has been like a friend in need to me. You see when things were not going my way this blog happened and I have not looked back ever since. I started writing and I am sure I have come a long way from when I started. This blog has been sort of a ray of hope in all darkness. And then came along my faithful friends out here... and in the last few days they reminded me that it had been some time since my last post..... (I hope this answers rae and Sid's query)

So, thanks for the kick on the back-side (I mean push)... I promise I am going to be here more often throwing my thoughts at you...

The Normal Guy....

12 Kicks So Far
India is out of the T20 world cup. Last years champs are out in the super 8s stage. Now, it does not matter what Mr. Dhoni says or our coach Mr. Gary Kirsten says cause no matter what every word coming out from their respective mouths is going to be scrutinized and we are going to do everything possible to screw their happiness.....

Well, thinking about all this I thought that there are two ways in front of me. I could be this mature guy who thinks that failures are a part of life and its a game and wining and losing are a part of it.
OR
I could be this normal guy who thinks that no matter how many failures I have had in my life and no matter how many times fate and bad decisions have just made me look like a fool, I will not stop myself and say its ok if they didn't win.

Fortunately, I decided that I will be the NORMAL GUY and thus, here goes.......

I come back from work tired after sitting in front of the computer the whole day(even though I am not in IT anymore and I don't know the 'P' of programming) that also in formals (I hate formals) all geared up watch The India vs anyone (even if its Timbaktu it doesn't matter).

I switch my idiot box on from the time three people who might have been nothing at their time giving expert comments till the last ball. Now, at times I know that Indians did not bat well and are almost definitely doomed to a humiliating loss but still I watch the match till the last ball. I put my getting up on time for work at stake and still after everything team India lost the match.

After all this what is an Indian to do but to take out all of the frustration and anger from everyday life on them. So, in the middle of the night angered from the loss I write a message to the news channels (which obviously is not shown because of the 'excellent' language used).

And still after one week I wait eagerly for the India vs anyone (even Timbaktu) match, just to see India beat the hell out of there bowlers and I wait eagerly to send a message to the news channels to congratulate team India for the win........

Think about it, if I was mature, life would be so less happening...........

The Mall Culture....

12 Kicks So Far
The last two days of my life have been very happening....
No not because I had work to do but because of the fact that even though I had no work and I was absolutely free I couldn't blog, I couldn't even stay at my house.....

Before I go any further let me tell you that I am a real lazy bum. Most of my friends would agree and tell you that if ever in this world they were honoring people who have made a name for themselves in the field of laziness, I would not only get a special mention but they would give me a salute of 25 cannon fires and even when they would be doing this I would not get up to acknowledge it.......

So, my life was really happening for the last couple of days and I had so much going on that I can't even start telling you..... Ya in your dreams may be. For me happening would be ordering a pizza at home and eating it while sitting in a chair (usually I am on the bed watching a movie or some kind of sports telecast). I am one of those people who tell you its too hot to get out in summer and too cold to get in winters and at other times its just raining.

Now that I have exaggerated enough to establish the fact that I am a very energetic and not at all boring person, lets continue....

So, this weekend was the usual I was looking forward to ordering a pizza the next afternoon and doing nothing when 11.30 in the night the lights went out. Now, power cuts in Noida are part and parcel of life and they don't make much of a difference cause anyways ACs and coolers don't work cause of the low voltage and moreover light comes and goes and comes but the important point here is that it comes back like and old faithful dog. But this time the dog went nuts and didn't come for the two whole days. And my faithful inverter gave up on us at the 12th hour of power cut....

With no light we had no other option and had to go to the mall. In the mall where on a Sunday people come as if the shops are giving up stuff for free or may be all of them were from my area (you see being lazy I am also not a very social guy). But I must add three hours of movie, two hours of lunch and one hour of coffee in the Air Conditioned Kumbh Ka Mela (Mall) was good....

Thank god for the Mall Culture (Lets hope no one from Ram Sena reads this)...

After Two Cocktails...

6 Kicks So Far
After two nice cocktails (courtesy Happy Hours) you definitely find out one thing- Why it is called the happy hours and also about the other things happening around.....

The racist attack on Indians have created a lot of news of late. People coming up with various reasons for the attack. The great debate on if it is that big a deal after all. The even bigger debate is if we should walk on the path of Gandhigiri or Bhaigiri i.e. use non violence or go around stabbing and beating every Australian on site.

Once again I am confused between right and wrong. Killing someone has to be wrong, right? But if its a Kasab that you want to kill is it wrong? Or is violence really just an outburst of your anger and nothing that is really thought about? Is Staying calm in a situation is something that is the wise thing to do?

Please don't get me wrong, I am not in support of people like Kasab. I firmly believe in the fact that we need to act and put an end to all this terrorism and racism. We need to start looking at each others as humans and not as Australians, Indians, Americans. Start working for the greater good.

The father of our nation preached non violence or Ahimsa but does Ahimsa hold the same meaning as it did back then. Ahimsa meant that you should react in a polite manner even to people who hurt you but has been made into a word used just for non violence. I mean is it ok to call a person a dumb f*** in the middle of the road as long as you don't shoot him down. I heard it once that the pen is mightier than the sword. Then does that mean that we can screw people all over and write whatever we want not taking into account there point of view. Will that not be a bit selfish but then again human being is a selfish animal.

Who knows but till then something more for you to think about......

"Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends."

And guess what.... Alcohol is a funny thing, it can start a conflict between your heart and your brain.... :)
